FAQ
What is Tree Recycling?
Tree recycling is the process by which we're able to reclaim
up to 97% of the trees we remove for you.
That means milling the logs into lumber, chipping up the small branches and
leaves, and using the remainder to provide heat and hot water in our homes,
shop, and to donate as firewood to those in need.
What types of trees do you recycle?
We're able to recycle most trees, with the exceptions of
Aleppo Pine and Silk Oak.
Aleppo pine is too coarse grained, and is unsuitable for woodworking.
Silk Oak has a toxin in the sap that our sawyer is highly allergic to.
Other than that, we're open to most species!
Do you offer free tree removal?
The answer is Yes, we do, but it's very rare. There are some
very specific parameters that your tree must meet in order to qualify. The rule
of thumb is only ULTRA - exceptional trees meet that requirement.
Call us for the details.
Can I get furniture made from my tree?
In most cases, yes! Obviously, the larger the tree, the more
useable lumber it will yield. When your tree won't yield sufficient lumber for
what you want, we recommend choosing a matching or contrasting wood from our
stock to augment the stock from your tree.
What else can be done with my tree?
We can cut your tree for firewood, rounds, or whatever you may
need. Talk with us about your needs, and we'll accommodate your requests as best
we can.
What is the cost of an estimate?
Estimates are free in most instances.
How soon can I get an estimate?
We're usually able to provide an estimate within 48 hours
after you call us. If you can't be present, simply mark the trees you want us to
assess, give us an idea as to what you want us to do, and we'll provide you with
a written estimate of all costs involved.
What's an ULTRA - exceptional tree?
An exceptional tree is just that - exceptional.
It's the mesquite that's straight as an arrow for 12' and 18" in diameter.
It's the Pecan, Cherry, or Maple, that's 30" in diameter and 80' tall, and the first branch is 40'
in the air.
Call us and we'll assess your tree for free!
